The ancient history of the Eldar
Stretches back over the millennia
To a time when they dominated
The stars so completely

Yet for all their splendour and might
The Eldar brought a terrible curse
Upon themselves that sundered their empire
Forever apart

Ravaged fragments of their once proud race
On the brink of annihilation.
Lost in the vastness of space, the craftworlds
float in utter isolation

Scattered jewels on a pall of velvet.
Distant from warmth of sun or planet,
Their domes gaze into the deep darkness
Of empty space

Within these crafts live the survivors
A civilisation abandoned
Aeons past that were terrifying
On the verge of destruction

A race that is all but extinct, the
Remnants of a people whose mere dreams
Once overturned entire worlds
And even quenched out suns.
